NHCRWA Director and Challenger Calls for All Candidates to REJECT CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS from those EMPLOYED BY or CONDUCTING BUSINESS WITH the NHCRWA.
Spring, Texas
Monday night, the North Harris County Regional Water Authority (NHCRWA) board voted 4-1 for a resolution calling for directors to voluntarily NOT ACCEPT any campaign contributions from vendors or those seeking to be vendors of the Authority.
Today, current NHCRWA Director representing District 4, Mark Ramsey, issued a call for all candidates for the two director positions on the ballot this year to reject accepting any campaign contributions from vendors, consultants, contractors, staff, or any other person or entity who has potential business with, or who’s immediate family has potential business with, the NHCRWA.
NHCRWA District 5 challenger candidate Roy Burroughs quickly joined the effort.
It has been common for consultants and other contractors to the NHCRWA to donate thousands of dollars to board members’ campaigns. This presents a clear conflict of interest and the potential to influence future contracts issued by the NHCRWA.
I call for all candidates to voluntarily reject any and all campaign contributions from individuals compensated in any way with companies currently doing business with, or those seeking to do business with, the NHCRWA.
